Our sweet doodles are our treasure!! We are proudly owned by beautiful Goldendoodles who are charming, smart, people-loving and very sociable, but best of all they are awesome friends and great therapy dogs. They have excelled in the puppy training class and now we are proud to offer offspring for adoption. All our poodles and our doodles (and our one Golden Retriever) have been tested and are clear for all recommended genetic testing for each breed as their age allows. (Hips/Elbows, PRA, PRA-prcd, Won Willebrands Type I, Thyroid, Addison's disease, Sebaceous Adenitits, GM1Gene test, written statement of current heart condition) Don't settle for a puppy with parents who are not extreme examples of their breed.
The offspring of a Golden Retriever and Poodle are referred to as being of the F1 generation.
The first generation (F1) standard size Goldendoodle was the first to be bred. It is the product of a Standard Poodle crossed with a Golden Retriever. Most first generation Goldendoodles either don't shed or shed lightly, and are compatible for most families with mild allergies.
We are dancing on air with this litter. For decades, we have been breeders of the standard sized doodles. As I get older, I realize that I do need to focus on the smaller form of the goldendoodle. I imported a fabulous red poodle from Romania. Russo, is stunning and weighs in at 12#.
Meanwhile, I mated my English Cream Golden Retriever to a 10# white poodle via AI. She welcomed a beautiful litter of three and I kept the two females for myself. Charlotte and Gretchen are both cream colored fl Goldendoodles of miniature size. Charlotte weighs in at 19# 2 ounces as an adult. Sister Gretchen weighs 25# 11 ounces. While this will be a learning curve on my part (I beg for feedback from those adopting from me as your puppy turns into an adult), I assume that these puppies will grow to adults of 25# or less.
At this time, I don’t have the ability to produce mini goldendoodles in any color other than the red/apricot/cream color scheme.
This is our very first litter and we are thrilled!
I will still produce Standard sized doodles for a few more years for those interested in the standard size of around 60#.
Our primary focus is indeed of the F1b generation. This means that a first-cross Goldendoodle is bred back to a poodle to create Goldendoodle offspring that are intended to have much, much lower shedding potential than the first-cross (F1) and still have the endearing, lovable traits of the Goldendoodle. This is the Flb generation.
These dogs will have a higher success rate for non-shedding, and are recommended for families with moderate to severe allergies.
As a hybrid cross, Goldendoodles will inherit fur that looks retriever-like, or poodle-like, but usually something in-between. Unclipped Goldendoodles will have hair about 4-7 inches long, shorter on the face and longer on the body, tail and legs. They require weekly brushing/combing. Depending on how often the dog is groomed, clipped Goldendoodles are groomed several times a year. Our goldendoodles average 45-60 pounds.
